Management

Travis Briggs, CEO

Travis Briggs, a 20-year veteran of the finance and wealth management industry, is CEO of ROBO-STOX. In addition to managing the daily operations of the firm, he is responsible for executing its business strategy and serves on the Index Committee.

Prior to joining ROBO-STOX in March 2014, Travis served as Managing Director and Director of Business Development at Smith Group Asset Management in Dallas, where he created and led the firm’s Private Client Group. Before joining Smith Group, Travis served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Business Development at Dallas-based hedge-fund Discovery Management. Earlier in his career, Travis was the Director of Investor Relations and Assistant Treasurer at Triton Energy and worked as an analyst at Bank of America.

Rob Wilson, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer

Rob Wilson, a wealth management professional with two decades of experience, is CSO and Co-Founder of ROBO-STOX. Attending a think-tank presentation on robotics, Rob realized robots were no longer the future, they are now! He has set about creating a way to invest in the long-term trend of robotics and automation technologies.

Along with co-founding ROBO-STOX, Rob is a Private Client Portfolio Manager with Fusion Analytics Investment Partners. He also was previously with RBC Wealth Management where he served as First Vice President, Financial Consultant; UBS Wealth Management as Vice President, Investments; and with Dean Witter Reynolds where he was Associate Vice President, Investments.

Frank Tobe, Co-Founder

Frank Tobe is the owner and publisher of The Robot Report. After selling his business and retiring from 25+ years as consultant to the Democratic National Committee as well as major local and national campaigns and initiatives across the U.S. and abroad, he has energetically pursued a new career in researching, writing about and investing in robotics.

In 2009 he launched the Everything-Robotic blog to supplement The Robot Report with periodic in-depth personal insights. Frank is also a panel member for the Robotics by Invitation series sponsored by Robohub, a Swiss-based online platform that brings together leading communicators in robotics research, start-ups, business, and education from around the world.

Chris Lightbound, Co-Founder

Chris is currently the Investor Relations Manager for GaveKal Capital in Asia, an advisor to several investment strategies, where he oversees a global client and investor base. Prior to GaveKal Capital, Chris was the Head of Sales for GaveKal Research, a leading independent economic and financial markets research boutique whose clients include over 850 pension funds, endowments, foundations, investment banks, hedge funds, mutual funds, and ultra high-net-worth individuals. Chris has also  managed sales within the Jebsen Group, a privately owned trading and distribution firm based in Hong Kong and prior to Jebsen Chris worked for the Gillette Company both in the US and Europe.

Clay Shepherd, Operations Manager

Clay Shepherd is the Operations Manager of ROBO-STOX. Clay graduated with honors in business from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.  Previous to his employment at ROBO-STOX, Clay worked as an associate intern for Silicon Valley Bank and a financial analyst at Bamford Partners.  Clay also co-founded Presidential Advantage Tutoring, which he sold in early 2013.
